Twenty professionals successfully completed the Third Diploma Program in Finance with a Specialization in Capital Markets, an academic initiative jointly developed by ESPOL and the Guayaquil Stock Exchange (BVG) to strengthen specialized financial education in Ecuador.

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FCSH) at ESPOL, together with the Guayaquil Stock Exchange (BVG), celebrated the graduation of 20 participants who successfully completed all academic requirements of the Third Diploma Program in Finance with a Specialization in Capital Markets.

The program was delivered under a cooperation agreement between the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), FCSH, ESPOL-TECH, and the Guayaquil Stock Exchange, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting advanced professional education in finance and capital markets.

Designed for professionals seeking to strengthen their expertise in financial management and investment analysis, the diploma program aimed to provide participants with specialized knowledge of capital market instruments, portfolio management, corporate valuation, and financial decision-making. In addition, the program prepares graduates to meet the requirements for registration as Capital Market Operators in accordance with Ecuadorian market regulations.

The diploma program comprised 168 academic hours distributed across 11 specialized modules covering topics such as securities legislation, financial mathematics, corporate finance, fixed-income portfolio management, stock valuation, technical analysis, stock market operations, securitization, risk management, taxation and foreign investment, corporate governance, business ethics, and social responsibility.

One of the program’s distinctive features is that participants who successfully complete all modules receive a qualifying certification issued by the Guayaquil Stock Exchange. This certification enables graduates to begin the process of registering as Capital Market Operators, subject to the requirements established by Ecuadorian regulations.

The successful completion of this third edition highlights the value of collaboration between academia and key financial sector institutions in developing highly qualified professionals capable of responding to the challenges of an increasingly sophisticated financial environment.

During the closing ceremony, the 20 graduates received their diplomas in recognition of their dedication, commitment, and academic achievement. Their successful completion of the program represents another milestone in ESPOL’s ongoing efforts to promote lifelong learning and professional development through high-quality continuing education initiatives.
