The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities  at ESPOL welcomed two representatives from ESIC University: Jesús Centenera Ulecia, Corporate Director of International Development, and Felipe Llano, General Director of Institutional Development. They carried out a working agenda focused on exploring paths for academic cooperation, with special emphasis on strengthening graduate programs.

The delegation was received by the Faculty Dean, Carla Ricaurte; External Relations Manager, William Herrera; International Relations Coordinator María Fernanda Suárez; Faculty Research Coordinator, Carmen Padilla; Graduate Programs Coordinator, Holger Barriga; Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Human Talent Management, Claudia Márquez; and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Economics and Business Administration, Mary Jovanna Rivadeneira.

During the meeting, participants discussed academic collaboration opportunities primarily aimed at graduate-level programs. These included the development of international weeks for faculty members and business study tours, initiatives that combine specialized professional training, company visits, and cultural activities, enabling students to gain globally oriented academic experiences. Research was also a key focus, particularly regarding shared research lines between ESIC faculty members and doctoral students.

Additionally, the possibility of promoting a “free movers” program was addressed. This modality would allow our students to undertake academic stays or internships at foreign universities without necessarily requiring a prior institutional agreement, thereby expanding their internationalization opportunities.

This strategic engagement highlights the prestige and trajectory of both ESIC University and ESPOL. ESIC brings 61 years of experience and recognized expertise in Marketing, Business, and Technology. On the other hand, ESPOL, ranked as the number one university in Ecuador, recently saw its Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities earn international ACBSP accreditation. Both institutions share a strong corporate identity centered on transforming individuals through knowledge to become agents of change in society.

Through initiatives like this, the Faculty of Social Sciencies and Humanities reaffirms its commitment to internationalization, the development of strategic partnerships, and the creation of opportunities that strengthen the academic and professional experience of its community.
